User Reviews & Recommendations

Get one (Jim, South Coast)

User Rating:

Having been with Nokia since the stone age I decided a change was due & ended up with this t650i (sim free) & so far so so good. It's my first camera, MP3, radio phone & I have to say that I am enjoying the process of learning a new phone & the way it operates but of course I do have a few 'issues', as you might expect, coming from the fossilised brick that was my Nokia 6100 !
As a whole the camera is very good & easy to use but the zoom only applies after you have taken the shot which is a shame & as mentioned below, the bumph doesn't tell you this, you just find out, eventually! The video is not as good as the camera but then I am a novice at this so I am not too fussed about that side of things.

Yet, I can't comment on the music player because I can't seem to install the disc that came with the phone to transfer the tracks but then again I am not too bothered about this either because I mainly want the radio for work which I think is very good (sound/earphones excellent), so it kind of balances out for me on that scale.

The ease of texting is mainly what swung it for me eventually, I am an avid texter & most phones these days seem to require the user to have really, really small fingers or no need to text at all & despite the buttons looking quite vicious on the t650i they are in fact very easy to use with the minimum of muck ups when writing, so overall I am pleased. Frankly I am a fussy person (according to my missus! ) & this phone is working for me at least but my biggest problem is that the thing is so smooth its way too easy to slip through my fat digits & be dropped. Oh well, you can't have everything your own way. Though I do try. Overall a nice phone & I say get one. Nuff said.

happy camper (Helen, Kensington)

User Rating:

I've had mine for about a month now. As a phone it's great, lightweight, slim, intuitive to use. The camera is not the best, my husband's K800i was much better & his new K850i is in a different league. On the T650i the camera zoom only works on the VGA setting (not that Sony tell you this in the manual or on the website, you have to pay 10p a minute on their technical helpline to find this out) &, as someone else has commented, the video quality is poor.

By far the best feature from my point of view is the way it synchronises with Microsoft Outlook. My phone is a work tool & being able to have my calendar, notes & tasks with me wherever I am is vital. The sync is very easy to set up & works brilliantly.

I like the music player, radio, etc. But for me these are just bonuses as they are not why I bought the phone & there are probably better ones on the market if these are the features that matter to you.

Overall very happy with the phone, not so happy with Sony Ericsson as a company (if you're going to charge for your helpline, then don't put people on hold! ).

Wowsers! (Peter, Ireland)

User Rating:

Wow! That's all I can say, I got this one week ago for my other 5 year old contract mobile was slightly used, I mean it was falling apart, & now I know how much mobile technology has improved. I love this phone, I have it in the midnight blue colour its fabulous! The camera & the media player are great too!

Love it (Peter, Oklahoma)

User Rating:

This phone is all that I expected when I bought it and more. All the reviews I read promoted its screen quality and it is absolutely amazing. All the features it has work great, the 3G is so much faster than my old phone without 3G. I had a Nokia 5300 music xpress and this phone blows it out the water. The only disadvantages I found were the buttons are nicely spaced but so small that if you text for very long they hurt your fingers. The camera is good quality but doesn't quite have a quick enough shutter speed to get a steady picture unless your in ideal circumstances. (ie. everything is still)

All in all, love the phone, looks like it cost a 1000 dollars.
