User Reviews & Recommendations

to have and hold (Bob Koskie, Closer than you think :-O)

User Rating:

very nice phone to hold. feels very robust. nice to text with nice soft keypad. got mine for 129.99 from phones4u with a 1 gig card. only thing i didnt like was when you close the swivel the mps player screen comes on and cant be changed to the phone screen very annoying. on the x830 you could switch between phone and music player when closed. when you want to check time or check if you have missed a call you have to open swivel. apart from that the phone is really nice and feels good.

Love it (Janice, Plymouth)

User Rating:

I had the Samsung X830 & fell completely in love with it. After accidentally dropping it down the toilet, I've been without it for about 6 months, using an older model Samsung. I've been desperately trying to get a replacement X830 but found it rather hard to get hold of one. Then I saw the F210. What a fantastic little phone.

It has everything the X830 had to offer but improved on. By biggest complaint with the X830 was that the spinning control had a rubbery coating which just rubbed off & made the phone look worn & dirty. The F210 has improved on this & made it metal. Not only is it more practical but looks better too.

The menu is the same easy to use version of the X830, & I must say I was very impressed with the Set Up wizard at the beginning. What an easy way to change all your default settings.

For those of you who are wondering between the blue & black, I can't imagine there is much different. I have the blue version & you can hardly tell it's blue. But it does go very nicely with the lilac screen!

All in all it's a phone I would recommend, I love it.

Lefties beware!! (JKL, Vancouver)

User Rating:

I really liked the look & features of this phone & am hooked on Samsung's, but when I came to try it before buying it was a big NO NO for me because I am left-handed & couldn't twist it open properly. It is so obviously designed for right-handers & as such immediately eliminates a huge slice of the potential market! Would it have been so difficult to design it so that it would twist open either way to suit right OR lef-handers?

So far, so good (MB, Middlesborough)

User Rating:

Got the Samsung F210 as a replacement for my aging Ericsson T39m. Carphone Warehouse only had metallic blue in stock, although I wanted black, it might as well be black, as it has the barest hint of a very dark metallic blue to it in bright light.

I had wanted a clamshell phone so that I didn't have to lock/unlock the keypad, but getting hold of a replacement Sony Ericsson Clamshell at the moment (Nov 07), with the features I wanted has proven to be next to impossible.

I had dismissed this Samsung swivel phone as an alternative, just assuming that it would be too awkward to open/close. However after trying it at a shop, its one-handed spring-loaded opening action is really slick.

It's a well constructed little phone, which feel's really solid. Key pad button size & layout is also very good despite its tiny size. Menus are intuitive. I might use the camera & music player occasionally, but that's not why I got the phone. I selected it for its small size, the ability to protect the keypad & terminate calls by just swiveling it shut.

Like other's I find the music player coming on when you close the phone as slightly confusing, with no ability to permanently turn this feature off, I think that's a design mistake & could put many people off the phone. I also think the ring-tone sound level is very quiet compared to my T39m, I doubt it's going to wake me up in the middle of the night, or that I would hear it when watching a film at home. The life of the battery seems fine to me - despite its tiny size, but then I've been used to charging my T39m every night.

It's paired with a Jabra BT2020 headset, & with a Parrot 3000 Evolution Car Kit, & works seamlessly with both. Although beware, the F210 doesn't seem to support the Voice Recognition features of the Parrot 3000 Evo. It can't even redial the last number called. However basic answering & hanging-up is seamless.

The phone comes with a USB lead & Samsung PC software which is very good, I was able to clean up & update my phone book in a few minutes, & download it all to the phone in seconds.

In summary I like it, & it seems so does everybody who as seen it so far.

close to perfect... almost (dennis, los angeles)

User Rating:

mp3 player: good, simple user interface, no off switch when phone is closed, software necessary to move songs, over 12+ hours of continuous play (maybe even more), good earphones but odd integrated design..., you can use your favorite earphones with the adapter (which has a nice handsfree button to answer phone calls), but using the adapter will unfortunately make the cord double its length. bottom line: get a cable management accessory and be happy.
phone: good, works with att network in the US, loud clear connection, hands free works perfectly, pad numbers are small but still comfortable enough, solid good interface, can send text messages easily.
camera: 2mega pixel camera, 4x zoom, no flash, video recorder. overall: good enough, beware of using all your storage space.
1gb internal flash drive, expandable micro sd slot (would recommend to buy a 2gb microsd card), can be used as a flash drive (although you will need to carry the usb cable or use the bluetooth option which works very well),
nice design, seems pretty durable (except small rubber cover protecting the proprietary usb connector, please don't break!).

If you want an mp3 player-cellphone with a decent 2mega pixel camera, YOU FOUND IT!

recommendations: 2gb micro sd card, get a leather pouch (unless you like all the fingerprints and scratches) from the samsung website, and finally... ENJOY!
