The Unlocked Sony Ericsson W830i is actually a special adapted EDGE version of the Sony Ericsson W850i. The handset which is of slider form factor has to work on its coolness quotient since it has to appeal to the youth.

- No ringtones in headset (Unlike Nokia), big minus
- Low volume
- Lack of autofocus
- No camera shutter

+ flash is gud, clarity is fine, a 2MP cam
- Lack of Zoom.

In VGA mode also, the max zoom for still shots is just 2.5 x. Even the w 700i I had was a 4x zoomer.

Display: + Simply Superb, a 240x320 resolution delivering an unbeatable crystal clear & sharp, high definitely
- None for now

Sound: + the sound 'clarity & Quality' is outstanding.
Unbeatable an the best in its class, Megabass rox! & the fantopia earbuds gives a pleasurable music output.
- well, though it's a w-series phone. , the speaker lags 'loudness'.
The volume is comparatively too low with the older models. Could have been a 2 or 3 speaker sys like 550i for better surround.

1. Sound quality is far better than Nokia's co called Music Edition phones. Even my existing iPod Nano (I gave it away to a cousin, since I don't need it no more).

2. Mega Bass TRULY rocks.

3. Miss'd an extra camera from 850i, but then come to think of it, do you really need it (apart from 'talking luxury')?

4. Very easy to use.

5. Miss Bluetooth Stereo, but I can live without that.

CONCLUSION: One of the best music phones I have come across.
